Do we believe we have Jesus’ power inside?
Scriptures:
Jn 1:6-8, 19-28
Chronicled in Luke chapter 4, our Lord began His public ministry by proclaiming the words found in the reading of Isaiah 61:1,
The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; he has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners
Our Lord said these things 2000 years ago in that synagogue in Galilee. He said them and then said the unthinkable to those around Him. He said that these words have become fulfilled— That God’s Holy Spirit was upon Him. And then, over the next 3 years, all He did was save you, me and the whole world, then, now, and forever!
Isaiah referred to something so powerful, so great, so amazing that it is almost impossible to fathom. As a Christian, you have been anointed with the sanctifying grace of Jesus’s very Holy Spirit at your baptism. All who have said the big “YES” to Him in one way or another have His power because His Spirit lives within us.
Do we really believe we have His power?
There have been 10 times where I have witnessed undeniable evidence of God’s real presence in my life. I don’t know about you, but this is my definition of a miracle. I know the Holy Spirit is real and living in me, and He is the source of miracles in the lives of all believers who are bold enough to unleash the Power! You, as a believer in Jesus Christ, are anointed with His Spirit. However, God also gave you free will and therefore you can freely choose to hold Him back or let loose. If you do decide to step into His calling for you, then His promise that you may see even greater things indeed may very well come true for you as it did for me. His power is truly amazing to witness! There is nothing in this world that can compare and I pray that you may realize His great miracles in your life.
To move toward Him and toward unleashing His Spirit in you, I ask that you contemplate especially on what Paul is urgently asking of us in his letter to the Thessalonians.
Do not quench the Spirit
Please pray and meditate on the following:
1) What are the things you are doing to quench Jesus’ Spirit in your life?
2) Journal today and every day this week about how to change at least one thing in your life that will help you to unleash Jesus’ Spirit.
3) Ask your Father in Heaven for strength to overcome all fear, uncertainty, and doubt so that you may not hold back and instead unleash your Christian Spiritual Potential!
The pathway to becoming a Christian Spiritual Superhero in God’s Kingdom starts with you unleashing your spiritual potential today!
You can do it!
God Bless you!
